Freshmen Lead the Way as Garnet Women Defeat Washington 65-59

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Freshman Eliza Polli scored 14 points on four-of-four shooting from behind the arc – including a crucial three-pointer in the final three minutes of play – while classmate Madeline Ross also dropped 14 points to lead the Swarthmore College women’s basketball team (10-12, 7-10 CC) to a much needed 65-59 victory over the Washington College Shorewomen (9-13, 7-10 CC) Friday night from Tarble Pavilion.

Swarthmore Womens Soccer Makes Sibling Adoption Through Friends of Jaclyn Foundation

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Friends of Jaclyn Foundation is a non-profit organization that works to improve the quality of life for children and families dealing with pediatric brain tumors. Jaclyn Murphy and her family founded the organization, inspired by Jaclyn’s experience as a nine-year-old cancer patient. The foundation matches children with a sports team, followed by a ceremonial adoption.

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Junior Kathryn Stockbower scored 19 points and pulled down nine rebounds while junior Ceylan Bodur and freshman Madeline Ross each scored 15 points against visiting McDaniel (15-4, 13-2 CC), but the Swarthmore College women’s basketball team (9-11, 6-9 CC) fell in heartbreaking fashion once again, 71-66, on Monday evening from Tarble Pavilion.

Garnet Split with Bullets on Senior Day

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Swarthmore College swim teams earned a split on Senior Day from Ware Pool, as the men’s swim team (4-3, 3-1 CC) won a hard-fought battle over Conference rival Gettysburg (4-3, 3-1 CC) 117-88, but the Garnet women (4-4, 2-3 CC) fell to the Bullets (7-1, 5-0 CC) 111-94 on Saturday afternoon.

Swarthmore Defeats Bryn Mawr 86-47

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Junior Kathryn Stockbower recorded her 58th double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds, sophomore Genny Pezzola (17 points) and freshman Madeline Ross (16 points) each recorded career-highs to lead the Garnet (8-10, 5-8 CC) to an 86-47 victory against Bryn Mawr (2-15, 0-13 CC) at Gooding Arena on Wednesday evening.

Swarthmore Falls to No. 12 Muhlenberg 69-54

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Swarthmore women’s basketball team (7-10, 4-8 CC) hoped to upset the visiting No. 12 Muhlenberg Mules, (13-2, 10-1 CC) but a 12-2 run to start the second half stunted the Garnet’s chances as the Mules controlled the second half to earn a 69-54 victory on Monday night in Tarble Pavilion.
