<p class="normal">Pendant trois mois, d’août à octobre 2002, quarante ans après l’indépendance de l’Algérie, cinq écrivains ont tenu leur journal intime et politique. Mohamed Kacimi, Nourredine Saadi, Leïla Sebbar ont écrit depuis la France où ils vivent, Maïssa Bey et Boualem Sansal depuis l’Algérie qu’ils n’ont pas quittée. Deux femmes et trois hommes, écrivains de langue française, en exil ou non, cheminant avec l’Algérie d’hier et d’aujourd’hui.</p>
<p class="normal">Avec l’histoire de la France et de l’Algérie si fortement inscrite en eux, chacun, selon ses encouragements, ses choix, sa sensibilité, son humour, tisse la trame des jours, à travers de petits faits comme des grands événements. Ainsi consignée dans leur journal, l’actualité tient en éveil et nourrit leur réflexion, pour nous faire découvrir conq regards différents, portés en même temps, depuis chacune des deux rives, autour d’une date anniversaire importante pour chacun d’eux.</p>
<p class="normal">Ce Journal intime et politique est volontairement nommé au singulier, car s’il y a des résonances d’un journal à l’autre, chacun est unique. Comme l’aventure douloureuse et forte qui lie l’Algérie et la France. Un livre profondément humain, émouvant, beau.</p>
