Bears Hold Hitting Picnic
COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. -- The Ursinus Bears' early lead in the first was too much for Swarthmore (7-10, 1-5 CC) to rally back in the 10-1 win for host Ursinus (11-5, 4-2 CC) in Centennial Conference baseball action this afternoon.
Right fielder Jimmy Gill ’10 (Lewes, Del. / Cape Henlopen) led the Garnet hitting 2-for-3 this afternoon. While third baseman Conor Casey ‘09 (San Francisco, Calif. / Lowell) drove in his seventh RBI of the season to send in Scott Dalane (Vernon, N.J. / Vernon Township). Dalane, with 15 total runs scored is tied with Casey and Thomas Nakamura ’10 (San Francisco, Calif. / Lowell) with the most runs scored this season.
Freshman pitcher Andy Allen (Machester, Maine / St. Dominic) picked up the loss for the Garnet, his overall record fell to 1-2.
The Garnet return home to Clothier Fields on Saturday, April 5 to host Centennial Conference foe Franklin & Marshall first pitch is scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
