Wang Named Player of the Week

Swarthmore, PA - Swarthmore College freshman outside hitter Jennifer Wang (Palo Alto, CA - Henry Gunn) has been named Centennial Conference Player of the Week after leading Swarthmore to the championship of the Moravian Greyhound Premiere Invitational Tournament on September 3-4.

Wang posted a .265 hitting percentage on the week, totaling 42 kills, 58 digs, and a team-best 11 service aces in four matches. Wang, along with senior Erica George, was named to the All-Tournament team for her performance.

By defeating Frostburg State, Muhlenberg, DeSales, and Alvernia at the tournament, the Garnet started the season 4-0 for the first time since 2001. Following a loss to Widener on Wednesday, the Swarthmore is now 4-1.
