</span>Gilles Larvor, né à Saint-Denis, vit à Bezons. Son travail sur la banlieue et sur la communauté maghrébine est diffusé dans la presse à partir de 1985.<br>
A propos du photographe Gilles Larvor, l’éditeur Mehdi Lallaoui écrit dans son introduction : "Son regard 'de l’intérieur' tantôt montre la zone dans toute sa crudité, tantôt en fait surgir une féerie bizarre. Son travail, qui s’étend des années 80 à 1995, témoigne, fonde une histoire, une mémoire." De l’écrivain Leïla Sebbar, née en Algérie, il déclare que ces trois nouvelles, inspirées de ses photos, sont "très dures, très sociales, irrésolues, traversées de souvenirs qui s’obstinent, de rêves et de déchirements".<br>
