Garnet Win Big Over Griffins 18-11

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Sophomores Marie Mutryn and Annelise Mowry each netted six goals to lead the Swartmore College women’s lacrosse team (5-1, 0-1 CC) to decisive 18-11 victory over the Gwynedd Mercy Griffins (3-3, 0-1 CSAC) on Thursday evening from Clothier field.

Make it Six: Waterhouse Propels Garnet to 11-8 Victory Over Widener

CHESTER, Pa. – Sophomore second baseman Mike Waterhouse hit a three-run home run in the top of the ninth to break an 8-8 tie, leading the Swarthmore College baseball team (9-6, 1-0) to a thrilling 11-8 victory over Widener on Wednesday afternoon.

The win marks the Garnet’s sixth-consecutive victory, matching the program’s longest winning streak since 1996.

Streaking Garnet Rally Past Mules 6-5

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – A four-run late inning surge by the Swarthmore College baseball team (8-6, 1-0) and a game-saving play by sophomore third baseman Spencer Ross in the ninth propelled the Garnet past Muhlenberg (6-8, 0-1) 6-5 on a rainy Tuesday afternoon at Clothier Field.

The five-game winning streak is Swarthmore’s longest since 1996 when the Garnet won six straight games. The victory also marks the first time Swarthmore has opened Centennial Conference play with a win since 2000.

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Swarthmore baseball team (5-6) is back on the winning track thanks to a clean sweep of the Vassar College Brewers (2-4) on Saturday afternoon at Prentiss Field. The Garnet held the Brewers to three runs for a 9-3 win in game one and held on for a 10-7 win in game two.
